Before we begin the taping process, we ensure that all drywall sheets are securely fastened and the surface is free from dust or debris. This helps the tape adhere better and ensures a smooth application of joint compound.

We use either paper tape or fiberglass mesh tape, depending on the specific requirements of your project. Paper tape is ideal for smooth seams, while fiberglass tape is used in areas where extra strength is needed, such as corners or high-stress areas.

The tape is carefully applied over all joints between drywall sheets, covering screws or nails that may be visible. Our experienced team ensures that the tape lies flat and smooth for a seamless finish.

After the tape is in place, we apply joint compound (mud) over the taped areas. We use a thin layer of mud first, pressing it into the tape to secure it. Then, we apply subsequent layers of mud, feathering the edges out to blend the seams with the surrounding drywall.

We typically use three layers of joint compound, allowing each layer to dry completely before applying the next.

Once the joint compound has dried, we carefully sand the surface to create a smooth, even finish. This step is crucial for ensuring that the drywall is free of visible seams, bumps, or imperfections. We use fine-grit sandpaper to avoid damaging the surface of the drywall.
